The Seven Seas and CG-835s

I am at sea again, presently at anchor awaiting cargo,

This trip is less hectic then usual and I have time to do some reading. I was surprised to learn something I have long wondered, what are "The Seven Seas".

According to "Salt" by Mark Kurlansky "The Seven Seas" was the area between the islands, which is now the city of Venice, and the peninsula of Comacchio. "Sailing the seven seas" meant sailing "The Seven Seas" the 25 mile stretch in between. 

Interesting book, the author also wrote "Cod" which I enjoyed as well.
